What's going to happen ?

In 30 days, I'll step into the 18th year of my life;
In 31 days, I'll venture into the life as exchange student.
I'll be in a foreign land surrounded by strangers and language that I'm still struggling to understand and speak.. It feels so surreal that I don't think I've actually registered the whole event into my mind; exciting yet at the same time equally nerve-wrecking. I don't know if the students in the new school will like me aka short Asian girl or if the teacher will be strict with me nor can anyone guarantee that all four or my host family will be nice to me.. Saying goodbye to comfort at home, family and friends for an entire year isn't the funnest part of going, packing a year's worth of clothes, souvenirs and other things I might need probably would be one of the most stressful task because I can't predict how the how exchange will be. A year of an exchange programme is no holiday like many would think, you still need to wake up at 6am to get ready and catch the bus to school five times a week or if your unlucky 6 times a week. Instead of being it just a year in life it probably is more about life in a year. When we first arrive we're literally going to be just like little babies being born into a new world of languages and cultures we've never encountered, making new friends adapting from one host family to another, cooking Malaysian dishes for a dozen of people for events and giving presentation on Malaysian in French ! Changing schools isn't the easiest task either especially to a French high school as it isn't the most exciting thing after knowing that they start school at 8am only to reach home at 7pm for 4 out of 5 days of school though the only thing to anticipate from school probably is their 2 hour lunch break with good food.. There are more negative what ifs running through my mind rather than the positive thoughts.. Seeing classmates already in college thinking if I should have stayed back and go to college but at the same time I'm aware that I'd definitely regret not going. Now that I'm actually going, I feel so confused yet so curtained about how right this decision is..
To sum it all, I'm sure it is gonna be one big roller coaster ride in 31 days 🎈
